Process automation spans across various departments. Encourage IT to work closely with other teams to identify pain points, understand workflows, and co-develop solutions. Cross-functional collaboration ensures the automations align with business goals.

I invest in continuous learning opportunities to keep my IT team ahead of automation trends. Regular skill assessments help identify training needs, while hands-on projects build practical experience. My focus balances technical expertise with adaptability. The systematic development of team capabilities ensures successful automation implementation. I prioritize: - Creating learning paths aligned with emerging technologies - Building confidence through gradual complexity increase - Celebrating team achievements to boost morale - Maintaining open dialogue about challenges and solutions

It is critical to have an alignment across multiple partners/stakeholders from day one of the program. IT is the true enabling partner for any automation initiative and takes care of non-functional system requirements (availability. reliability, scalability, observability, tech currency/debt management), environmental constraints, quality, security, privacy, performance and operations support should be part of the planning to have a good experience for avoiding surprises later. The internal IT teams understand these challenges better than vendor partners and consulting service providers. Engage the IT team from of the inception of any automation program - big or small - lay the foundations for sustainable scale and growth.
-
To ensure my IT team can keep up with process automation success, I focus on: Continuous Learning: Invest in ongoing training to keep the team updated on new tools and best practices. Collaboration: Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and teamwork to tackle challenges collectively. Clear Roadmaps: Establish clear automation roadmaps aligned with business goals, ensuring everyone knows priorities. Agile Methodologies: Implement Agile practices for iterative development and quick adaptation to changes. Performance Metrics: Track progress with KPIs to identify improvements and motivate the team. These strategies empower the team to succeed in the evolving automation landscape.

Ensure IT keeps up with automation by focusing on continuous skill development, providing modern tools, and fostering cross-department collaboration. Align team goals with automation objectives and set milestones for progress. Regular check-ins and communication ensure clarity and adapt quickly to challenges.
-
If you are striving already, it would mean that the initial IT infrastructure is already in place. In principle, there will not be much changes other than adding additional bots or additional infrastructure usage. If you migrate to a new vendor, then you will need to build up a business case anyway to justify new infrastructure cost, etc. The advantage would be that you have already a reputation to build striving solutions, therefore it might help on gaining support for the business case.
-
To ensure your IT team can keep up with process automation, prioritize clear communication and collaboration. Establish a dedicated automation team or designate clear roles within existing teams. Provide comprehensive training on automation tools, methodologies, and best practices. Foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation. Encourage open dialogue and feedback to address challenges and refine processes.
