One can manage the pressure by practicing mindfulness. To begin, stop, take a few deep breaths, and center yourself in the here and now. Think about priorities, and which tasks fit with the main objectives and values. Take them one at a time and divide them into smaller, more doable steps. Instead of multitasking, give each task your whole attention and prioritize progress over perfection. To refresh mind throughout the day, incorporate quick mindfulness exercises like a 5-minute meditation or a gratitude check-in. Establish limits, assign tasks when can, and remember to look after yourself. Working with clarity and intention, staying true to what really matters, is made possible by mindful activity as opposed to frenetic reaction.

Mindfulness 🧘 gives you the non judgmental outside peek into all the aspects and let you prioritise them based on their importance. 😀

I've mentioned this before - I use the Pomodoro Technique. I prioritise tasks, then break them up into manageable amounts eith built in breaks. I use a kitchen timer set for 35 minutes at a time to keep me focused.

Being overwhelmed is completely acceptable if you´re working in a fast-paced environment with lots of ambiguity. Learn to count on your leadership and stakeholders to level-set everyone's expectations. Break down your delivery tasks to help yourself visualize what your bottlenecks are. Is this a non-manageable list? Do I have the time to do it? Should I delegate more to peers? Big bets may be pivoted once you show with transparency what is going on and refine your milestones altogether. A deadline is set based on the scope of work and level of certainty we first have, if any of these slightly change or you're understaffed - raise your hand and reset your moves.

Finally, I eliminate distractions, knowing multitasking can lower efficiency by 40% (Rubinstein et al., 2001). Pressure is inevitable, but with the right approach, it’s manageable. Prioritize tasks by importance and urgency, setting realistic time limits. Commit to following the plan for 10 minutes, then work in focused intervals, taking short breaks hourly. Mindful organization and breaks will help you align with what truly matters. ✨

Pause. Breathe. Recenter. Take a break. Take a walk. Take a break for 15 minutes so your brain can reset, and you will be more effective in your deadlines, preferably outside and not looking at screens. Continuing to push through will keep you stuck in the overwhelm. Then, set a timer for 15-30 minutes to do work. Make a list of what is due and when so you can prioritize tasks. Also, write down how long you think the task will take. Then pause again after 30 minutes for 5 -10 minutes. You will be more productive because you are not grinding away at the to-do list without re-regulating your nervous system.

Prioritising things makes it easier to reach deadlines. Also setting boundaries and goal setting helps a lot. Breaking the goals list from very important to less important should also be helpful
