-
Be transparent about the changes and how they align with your commitment to clients. Keep communication consistent, stay true to your promises, and show how the new values enhance your service. Trust builds with honesty.

Change of organisational values is not only possible but required, as the world around, industry and employee base is evolving. When organisations are able to clearly explain their evolution, including this around values or even their purpose, it has the potential to further strengthen the trust with their clients.

Navigating a shift in organizational values offers a powerful opportunity to strengthen employee's trust when approached with intention and clarity. I encourage leaders to embrace open communication, sharing not just the details of the change but the deeper 'why' that aligns with employees' needs and aspirations. Actions that consistently reflect these values build credibility, reinforcing trust that isn't based solely on words. Additionally, actively seeking employee feedback and truly listening to their perspectives shows respect and builds a partnership grounded in mutual growth. In my work partnering with coaching clients, these strategies have proven invaluable in transforming periods of change into trust-building opportunities.

Hopefully organizational values are shifting in a way that make your org more responsive, relevant or are taking their existing values to an elevated level. Clients will be interested to know the why behind and it offers a new opportunity to reconnect. If the org is going in a direction that feels contradictory to the values it once held the story of why needs to be authentic, justified or based on new realities. Decisions should be made based on org values. This week I was working on some supports for leaders who want some support to develop an AI strategy that makes sense and I am telling them that its the values of the org that shapes the ethics of how this plays out in each context. Values matter, values evolve- the why matters.

To maintain trust during organizational value shifts, focus on transparency, consistency, and client engagement. Communicate openly about the changes, explaining their rationale and benefits while reaffirming your commitment to client success. Ensure actions align with the new values, demonstrating integrity and building credibility. Actively involve clients by seeking feedback and addressing their concerns to show their opinions are valued. By aligning communication, behavior, and engagement with client priorities, trust can be preserved and strengthened, even during transitions.
-
Clients need to understand the rationale for the shift in values. Clearly articulating the reasons—whether they align with societal changes, industry trends, or internal growth—helps reassure clients that the changes are purposeful and beneficial. This includes explaining how the new values will enhance the organisation’s ability to serve their needs.

Navigating changing values, whether in an organization or life, requires honesty, consistency, and empathy. To maintain trust with clients, communicate openly about changes, explaining their purpose and how they align with the bigger vision. Transparency is key, as people appreciate understanding the "why" behind decisions. Additionally, showing genuine care for clients’ needs by consistently delivering on promises and being responsive helps build trust. Trust is built not just through words, but through actions. Like in personal relationships, showing integrity, empathy, and reliability ensures trust remains strong even during times of change.
