By Awareness .. Once you encounter a distraction.. use the same distraction as cue to be more mindful... So come back to the present moment! I use this method personally when I facilitate Sound Meditation sessions... I encounter many distractions... Some external.. Some unpleasant noises.. distracting me and all participants too. So I leveage the very distraction as a tool to come back more Mindfully to what is important in the Present! Make Distraction work to your advantage!!

Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and engaged in the present moment, observing our thoughts, feelings and sensations without judgement. This practice helps us to become more aware of our surroundings and ourselves, enabling us to better manage our reactions to various situations.

Navigating distractions in crucial team discussions requires presence and intention. Start by setting the tone—establish ground rules for focus, like silencing devices and designating a note-taker. If a distraction arises, gently bring the group back to the agenda without judgment. I recall in a leadership workshop I facilitated, a team got sidetracked by personal anecdotes. I acknowledged their enthusiasm but steered the conversation back by asking, "How does this connect to our goal?" This honoured their input while maintaining focus. Mindfulness in discussions is about balancing empathy with purpose.
