Use this to either make the stakeholders believe or reset your beliefs. 2. Check if the tasks can be run in parallel (vs sequential), and propose adding resources to speed up the deliverables. 3. Understand the stakeholder's goal and propose a MVP that comes closest to the goal within the timeline, with a plan for full delivery. Be creative! 4. If still not aligned, highlight the risks & escalate! 5. If escalation doesn't help, take a judgement call (it's very nuanced) on temporarily stretching. 6. If #5 repeats, find new stakeholders or become one, to make this world a better place!

Am looking from vendor perspective, the moment client's stakeholders set unrealistic timelines, I would assume that the project team will not be able to meet regardless how much resources are "pumped" into the project and it is not about scope. Thus to negotiate, we must fall back on the contract, and we have to be prepared to walk away from the project to minimize the losses. To avoid such situation, the project management must constantly keep the stakeholders informed, right from beginning of the project and keep them frequently updated.

If you want low costs [cheap +], quality suffers [quality -], or it is pushed somewhere in between [speed -]. If you want it super good [quality +], it takes time [speed -] and costs more [cheap -], if you want velocity [speed +], this is at the expense of quality [quality -] or at higher costs [cheap -]. What is not possible: high quality in super-fast at low cost. Anyone who understands this is often open to a good compromise, whereby we as #FoodSafetySeniorExperts set a limit for quality in our services that we never go below. If necessary, we reject the order.
