I regularly speak to a diverse audience (it's called the audience), every person is different, with different interests and everyone is looking for different things from your content. Always treat the audience with respect and engage with them. Be humble! If you, can break the ice to gauge the audience's general focus area but they are there to absorb your content, so deliver an inclusive, compelling and stimulating story.

Knowing your audience (backgrounds, interests, etc.) is not always possible when addressing a group of people from diverse backgrounds. The number of people will also affect the ability to connect. Easier to "get to know" five people than it is 500 attendees. With small groups time can be allowed for each to introduce themselves (Name, Country, Interests, Family, Where work, Job function, Anticipated outcomes, etc). Make the presentation in simple English. Aim for most words being three syllables or less

I often speak to a diverse audience. The most important is to define What am I bringing across ( the objective of the conversation), and who is listening. How or my delivery usually comes after that quite naturally. I put importance on what people gain from the information. I make sure to consider their abilities to digest the information and try to deliver it without industry lingo and in rather simple terms. I can step up if I see that the comprehension level in my group is high. I like to follow the formula- who am I talking to, what do I want to say, and what do I want them to do! Having the identified end result helps with the delivery style .

To connect with a diverse audience, in person or online, focus on their values and what matters to them. In person, watch their body language and use inclusive language. Online, keep it engaging with visuals, polls, or Q&A. Stories are key—share relatable ones that resonate with their experiences. A good story breaks barriers and brings everyone together, no matter the setting.
