One thing I have found helpful when managing client expectations is setting boundaries and providing them with a set timeline that will allow a margin of tasks to be performed without stress. Being transparent with clients is also effective. It is also important to find ways to channel the stress out through sports or other after-work activities which would be an efficient way to recharge and to maintain resilience emotionally.

Treat them like a micromanaging boss. Set clear boundaries Clear deliverables Go to them when the work is 70% done for final "input" Label everything Draft, to convey that their input matters Trust them to be demanding. You shouldn't be surprised when a demanding client behaves as such. By doing so you tie your mental stability to the actions you already know they would take. Go into it expecting and planning for that, and Everytime XYZ happens play mental bingo and get a little dopamine hit as you "called it" But also realize it should never make you jaded. You need time to reflect, gather your thoughts, and be authentic as well.
