Such clients need to be welcomed as they taught you very important lessons of life: patience, speed, push the boundaries, promise less deliver more and above all, be organised. Knowing the client is very important and clients can't be taken for granted. So one has to fulfil their expectations. Please also remember, it was your choice to make them your client and you went to them for their business, so you have to bear with them and hear them. It is expected that you must have done your due diligence before making them your client and you are well aware of their behaviour and expectations. So no need to whine and do what is expected out of you by the client.

This way you send mix messages and end up confusing your stakeholders. Similarly, compromising on your boundaries and values paint you in a bad light and you come across as weak and a pushover. Even before you define your boundaries to others, its important to clarify them with yourself based on your intrinsic values.
