You will be able to create a sense of stability and build trust even in the most turbulent times by cultivating a culture of openness and collaboration.

Many times I have seen leaders that are afraid to show employees data or insights that may show a negative situation, under their watch. When we do this we assume our people don’t already know the situation. And that’s a major mistake. Our people may often know more than the leaders. So be transparent and show empathy and most importantly respect their intelligence and be a leader by showing them what you plan to do to improve the situation. To paint a rosy picture and to hide behind only the good news will not get you out of chaos - if anything it will sink you deeper into it.

There is constant change which leads to uncertainty in most lives and businesses now a days. Preparing for it is more difficult if you get behind on training and education. Communication of nonstop change is way to difficult to deal with when it is constant. I believe that people handle change better when they are well trained in what they do and understand their roles well enough to add to the conversations on how to adjust approaches. Industries that spend quality time and money on training and education weather change much better. To many problems evolve through lack of training, education and confidence. Being certain your team is well trained and has the education behind the job they do means they can more readily join you in adapting.
