As a new leader, my job is to ensure that everyone understands what the common goal is - I don’t get into the role to flatter my god-like personality but to support the team to reach this common goal - this support must be serious and authentic, not lip service. And if at all possible, build on what you find - even if you think it’s easier to tear everything down - build on what you find and ensure that your team is with you.
