I’d ask them to not think too much about deadlines but challenge them to do most pragmatic work on daily basis that produces output and deliverables that matters to the customers. It’s easy to get lost in the headwinds of deadlines but difficult to stay focused and that’s why doing meaningful buts every moment is important.

You must first transition leadership to an agile mindset. You cannot successfully change a delivery team's mindset and process to agile without their leadership making the change first. Otherwise, you'll just be doing Scrumfall. Once leadership has made the change, then it's all about trust, accountability, and communication, both within the team and between the team and stakeholders.

Here's how i do it. 1. Break the system into key features. 2. Split each feature into smaller tasks. 3. Set task priorities. 4. Assign tasks to developers with clear deadlines, including QA. 5. Track progress using tools like Trello or Jira. 6. Adjust plans regularly in stand-up.
