I don't have direct experience in managing remote teams, but as an HR professional, I understand the importance of fostering connections and maintaining engagement. Building trust and rapport in a remote environment can be achieved through consistent and open communication. Regular Zoom meetings can be scheduled, not just to discuss work, but also to connect on a personal level. It's essential to make team members feel valued and heard by encouraging their feedback and acting on it. Additionally, incorporating virtual team-building activities, celebrating achievements, and showing appreciation for their efforts can enhance morale and maintaining transparency can further strengthen trust within the team.

It requires intentional efforts, mainly the communication strategies ( Open communication / Transparency and trust . We need to be focus on team building activities mainly on social events as online and at the same time regular feedback and coaching as well is important factor to keep the team aligned and motivated. The empathy and personal connection work well too. The virtual reality / surveys / AI as well feedback mechanism work well to keep individuals in touch and motivated .

I created online engagement sessions such as "Innovation Day" where we get together to brain storm ideas for next year in area we can improve the way we work, previously i also organised coffee and cakes to be delivered to all remote employees located in different parts of the world for online coffee and chit chats and altho logistically difficult but it was possible with the help of colleagues located in the country location. Where there is a will, there is always a way! And going the extra mile and putting in the extra effort to connect will not be unappreciated! Give it a try!
