During the meeting, i clearly outline the reasons for the scope change, its potential impact on timelines, resources, and deliverables. I encourage open dialogue and collaboration, fostering a problem-solving mindset to adjust our approach. Finally, i provide a written summary of the discussion and the agreed-upon action items to ensure everyone is aligned moving forward. I believe, This approach maintains trust.

Scope change is a very significant adjustment to be made that leads to detailed analysis of what has been already been accomplished i. e. for As- is and To-be. Depending upon the progress of the project till date, the impact of scope change, new scope planning, execution changes, monitoring and control changes and lessons learnt thus far need to be re-calibrated. New time lines, risk changes, costs, communication and all the different aspects have to be looked into including what can be reused. Work involved is almost as if a new project is being started. The best way forward is to have immediate meetings on war footing and communicate the differences and gaps to project teams and stakeholders clearly so that it is understood by all.

Any change in project scope requires sound planning and execution to: - Accommodate the change - Implement the change - Create awareness about the impact of change To accommodate the change, there should be a clear process of classifying the change either as a CR or as a new business requirement. Effort estimation, cost approval and feasibility analysis, often serve as the key decision points here. To implement the change it necessary to ensure that the new system design can be integrated with the existing design. All external dependencies need to be clearly called out before implementation. Once the change is released proper communication needs to be sent out to the stakeholders in order to ensure adoption and transparency.
