One thing I found helpful is to not over-engineer automated processes by keeping them simple. Other than that, continuous reviews of automations and improving/adapting those if needed is key.

When you start the Automation initiative across the organization, it is a science and art to implement it. The science part of it is called CoE. A CoE needs to be established in the beginning which provides right governance, ensures stakeholders buy-in etc along with further planing of this initiative in line with business plans.
