While communicating with the team members we should always have a boundary that sets apart a friend and a superior. If the colleague is crossing boundaries which we have already set then we have to make sure that we communicate with the team member properly about the situation and the pros and cons. And again the same colleague crossing the limits then we need to take the matter to upper management about the same. There is always a thin line between a friendship and an insult in the friendship or relationship with the team.
