Such unprofessional behaviour from a leader shows an apparent lack of leadership training. Do not respond, defend, or counter-criticism, no matter what the criticism. Look down away from others and your boss. If provoked to answer any point, you need to respond respectfully, suggest that it is more complex than it appears and offer to discuss details in a private meeting. I will use an emotional intelligence technique I call project to reflect. If you counter, reject or antagonise in public, the conversation can get heated, It would be best to project calm and logical thinking to get someone to switch to this mode. In private, you can correct the situation and allow your boss to discover and support your point of view.

This one is my favorite. Let's hear the truth. If we are actually talking about a person which is so called "boss". You can't change that person ever in your life. Yes you can change the Job and It's your choice. There is a difference between a leader and a boss. A boss will always criticize you for your work whether it's good or bad because as a boss that person thinks that this is the only thing he is born to do. Telling other people what to do and what to not and that will kill your core skills. I have worked enough companies and I have seen that you can't change the way it is. Seek for a leader at a workplace not a boss. Why? As it's very important for your growth on personal and professional level.

Acknowledge the feedback, maintain a positive tone respond like thank you for pointing out. This shows professionalism and willingness to learn, regardless of how the feedback was delivered. Do not get into an argument or try justify your work immediately. If the criticism was not justified or it was intentional to put you down. Take some time and ask to have a separate conversation to schedule a discussion to go over the details. Implement changes/feedback and show progress. If public criticism becomes a habit, be professional,say it’s better to have a private conversation rather than in public in future.
