Based on the type & purpose of data we apply different dimensions of data quality. for illustration, we use Validity dimension to determine the format (length, number of digits etc.), allowable types (string, integer, floating points, etc) for continues and discreate types of measures. Other extensively used dimensions include Completeness, Accuracy, Consistency, Timeliness.

The checks were defined using Spark UDFs - after validating the UDFs efficiency, I extended the rules to the remaining CDE delta tables.
