To make onboarding truly personalized, it’s important to not only consider the new employee’s role and interests, but also actively include them in the team culture. Instead of a standard set of privileges, you can collect information about the newcomer’s preferences in advance and integrate this into the process. For example, prepare a personalized development plan that takes into account their career goals, or organize a joint introduction to the team through informal activities. This approach helps create a sense of importance and involvement from the first day.

To create a memorable onboarding experience, we focus on: Personalized welcome packages: Tailoring them to the new hire's role and interests. One-on-one meetings: Scheduling time with key team members to build connections and answer questions. Mentorship: Assigning experienced mentors to guide new hires through their career path. We also emphasize open communication, providing regular feedback, and celebrating milestones to make new hires feel valued and part of the team.

There are a few steps that I use and it works for me:- 1. Talk to them through the onboarding (documentation) process & help them with documents that they have a problem understanding. 2. Introduce them to the team & tell them about the co-workers that they are going to work with. 3. Schedule meetings with the immediate team members to understand what they are doing.

Goal: Make them feel supported and part of the team from day one! For me, it starts with walking around with them to personally introduce them to their new colleagues. I take time to share a little about their professional background during these introductions to help spark meaningful connections right away. I also ask the new hire how they’d prefer to be introduced, whether through one-on-one meetings with key team members, a quick introduction at the next all-hands, or a combination of both. Giving them this choice ensures they feel comfortable and included. Finally, I make sure they have access to all the tools and resources they need to hit the ground running.
