When I’m on a tight deadline to develop a training module, I start by identifying the core objectives—focusing on the essential skills or knowledge that learners need. I break down content into must-haves (critical information), should-haves, and nice-to-haves, prioritizing the must-haves to ensure key points are covered. I also add practical examples to make the material engaging and actionable. If relevant resources are available, I integrate them to save time without compromising quality. This way, I deliver concise, impactful training that meets the main objectives.

If I'm working under a tight deadline to create a training module, the first thing I do is break down the core priorities of the module. These core priorities serve as the foundation for the entire training. By identifying what’s most important — whether it's key concepts, critical skills, or the most essential takeaways for the learners — I can focus my efforts on the areas that will have the greatest impact. These priorities are crucial because they help me structure the training efficiently, ensuring that I can deliver comprehensive content without getting bogged down in less important details. With a clear focus on these priorities, I can build out the rest of the module more effectively, even with limited time

To prioritize essential content for a training module under time constraints, start by identifying key learning objectives that align with your organizational goals and the specific needs of your audience. Conduct a quick assessment to determine the knowledge gaps and critical skills required for immediate application. Focus on the most relevant topics that impact performance directly, utilizing feedback from subject matter experts to guide content selection. Keep the module concise by emphasizing actionable insights and practical examples, and consider including supplemental resources for deeper exploration later.

While trying to ensure that the content is aligned with the objectives, I would try and leverage Gen AI to get a perspective on whether there's any gap between the two. It would help keep my unconscious bias aside and evaluate the content objectively.

To prioritize essential content in a training module, I focus on identifying the core objectives: what the trainees must know to perform effectively. This begins with understanding critical knowledge gaps through feedback, such as exit interviews and employee input, which highlight recurring issues or skills in demand. I also prioritize content that aligns directly with company goals, as well as practical, hands-on skills that have immediate application. Including employee recognition systems or modules on communication and feedback can enhance engagement, as it shows the company’s investment in their growth.
