Keeping up to date with the latest available technology is important for engineers in all disciplines. When I worked for M W Kellogg in London, we used to organise Lunch & Learn sessions with the latest equipment and other items needed for plant engineering and construction. Here the suppliers would come prepared with their latest development to inform the engineers and to say thank you for sparing their lunch time for listening. Normally, a simple lunch of sandwiches, snacks and soft drinks was organised. This was a nice way to learn new technology usually once a month and also have time to meet others in the industry.
