One thing I've found useful, is early and I mean early communication on the shift in direction, the WHY for the business, the team and as individuals in plain language, the IMPACT of not shifting and the VALUE if we do it well...then ask them what they THINK, how it makes them FEEL and what they now need... truly listen then ACT together...

It is not possible to get 100% buy-in at the beginning when people are doubtful of your proposal. If you can get majority to say yes, start the ball rolling to create momentum and short-term wins. While that's on-going, communicate with those who are reluctant again and see if they are more confident and win them over bit-by-bit. It is a process and it is always results in the form of short-term wins that speaks.

Engaging reluctant employees requires empathy and clear communication. Start by listening to their concerns and involving them in the change process. Provide a clear vision of the benefits and how it aligns with their values. Regularly communicate progress and celebrate small wins to build momentum. Empower employees by offering training and support to help them adapt. Create a feedback loop to address issues promptly and make them feel valued. Foster a positive environment that encourages collaboration and innovation, ensuring everyone feels part of the journey.

One of the great examples this year of driving culture change within an organization has been the adoption of AI-enabled technologies. As the first adoption stages have been achieved in many organizations, I believe next year will be the time for companies to shift the focus of conversations from true (or self-proclaimed!) AI experts educating others (us vs they) to conversations where different communities and professionals will share their success stories and challenges (us and we). AI is a great example of where professionals from different functions, countries, and backgrounds can benefit from each others' experience and expertise.
