This is perhaps the single most important factor in any culture change effort. Are senior leaders role-modelling the values of the desired culture, or not? If they are not walking their talk, you can forget the hope of others doing it consistently. But values are too conceptual for some. Having a value of 'fairness' sounds great, but it can leave room for debate about whether the value was exhibited or not. There is no room for misunderstanding if we demonstrate fairness through behaviours such as giving equal voices in meetings or in conflict resolution, rooting out unconscious bias in processes, promoting based on consistent, objective criteria. Define the behaviours that reflect your values and you will find it easier to live them.

Currently i am mananging a diverse team and couple strategic clients in daily basis, and i believe i do have something to share in terms of driving changes. To lead is to influence. No doubt!. Yet what kind of influence that you want to give, so your team is willingly wanted to follow your lead ?. To me personally, i choose the simplest yet the hardest one, which is leading by example. I want to change the current culture into a much better and rewarding one. The very first thing to do is to change from within me. For instance, i want my team to listen to me, obviously i have to listen to them first. I want my client to stay on business for long term, then i have to advice and serve their interest them well for longer term as well.
