Automating a process often requires the same level of effort being put towards change management as it does development. A successful framework I've used in the past is ADKAR: Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement. This method takes time and patience but will pay off in the end when you have a group full of advocates for change instead of constant push back. One of the most common fears of automation is the fear of losing your job. As a start it's important to help the team understand where their time will be spent after the process is automated and that their jobs are secure. There should be a consensus meeting between selected team members involved to be successful. Ask their concerns and commitments. Let them know the advantages of adopting data automation such as data accuracy and just intime data for vital decision making of the enterprise Provide them enough trainings and simulation support for error free finetuning. Provide rewards and merits system for those members and employees who work and contribute to the team efforts. Ask feedbacks anonymously for all employees involved and affected alike to know their concerns and inputs. This way, all resistance is eliminated.
