📌 First, we need to understand the reason why she/he missed a deadline. 📌 Then, together we need to figure out the way we can improve the situation, such as communication, complexity of the task, estimation to complete the task. 📌 Finally, we have to agree on the working agreement, that despite of the team member is in charge of the task, at the end of the day it is a team work. And as project manager, we must ensure that the team member will be able to deliver.

A couple of things I learnt is to, a. Divide the project into smaller tasks and assign a priority for it. The same has to be discussed and communicated with the team. b. Create a positive and contributory atmosphere as a leader so that tasks and projects are looked at as career paths and not hurdles that need to be surmounted.
