Uniting a divided team over a design methodology change requires a strategic and empathetic approach. Here are some steps that might help 1. Open communication 2. Understanding Design perspective 3. Highlighting the benefits 4. Adress the team concerns 5. Involve the team in the problems and make them release how important it to bring them on board and their contribution to the company. 6. Most importantly Be Patient. Changes takes time and provide continuous support to the team. Creating a unified vision and fostering a collaborative environment will go a long way in helping the team embrace the new methodology.

Open Communication: Keep the lines of communication open. Regularly update your team on changes and how they will impact their work. Encourage questions and provide clear, honest answers.

To unite a team divided over design methodology changes, it's essential to address the root causes of the division, clarify objectives, and foster alignment. Below are some key items to consider: 1. Understand the root cause of the division. I believe in addressing/tackling problems from the source. Start by identifying why the division exists. What are the underlying issues? Are they due to unfamiliarity, differing priorities, or a lack of clarity regarding the new approach? It is also essential to emphasize the team’s common goal. Recognizing that we are working toward a shared objective is crucial. I believe the problem is already halfway solved when the team acknowledges that we are all working towards reaching the same destination.

I will develop a brainstorming participation, define pros&cons , establish synergy for technical opinions and finally common alignment, always listen and coach

Change in design methodology should focus on alignment and collaboration. Open dialogue, shared goals, and hands-on workshops help integrate new approaches while building trust and cohesion within the team.
-
Gather all team members in a room infront of white board. Start conversation about design and post all ideas on sticky notes on board. Later start reviewing each one with everyone for pros and cons and eliminate bad one with common consensus. This way everyone can reach to agreeable solution.

To unite a divided team over design methodology changes, start by understanding everyone's concerns and identifying common goals. Clearly explain the reasons for the change, emphasizing shared benefits. Provide education about the methodologies and support the decision with data. Involve the team in evaluating options, perhaps through workshops or pilot projects, and consider a gradual or hybrid approach to ease the transition. Foster open communication, address resistance with empathy, and lead by example. Celebrate small wins and recognize contributions to build momentum and alignment toward a shared objective.

There is always a way forward. If I'm in that situation, I will seat with team listen to their views on that matter one by one, list out the common point, then reflect on the root cause. And have a Open discussion. I believe collaboration is the key, when you hear out your team, half of your issue is sorted out.
