Whenever I assign a project manager, whether inhouse or consultant, I set up daily huddles to ensure if there are any obstacles, I am aware immediately and can intervene or pivot where necessary. In addition, I ensure our project spreadsheet is tabbed out with one master tab and then individual or department tabs and I check that during huddle to ensure real time updates are occurring. We meet weekly to review as a group with all department stakeholders to ensure we didn't forget any tasks, are adding new ones along the way and working together to stay on track. This partnership stops delays in their tracks usually and ensures we meet objectives on time.

Identify the Cause: Hold a meeting to understand the root cause of delays, such as unclear objectives, resource constraints, or miscommunication. Reprioritize Tasks: Break down the project into actionable steps, focusing on high-impact deliverables and adjusting timelines if necessary. Enhance Communication: Set clear expectations and establish daily check-ins or progress updates to ensure alignment. Provide Support: Offer additional resources, guidance, or training to address skill gaps or challenges. Motivate and Reassess: Reinforce the project’s importance, celebrate small wins, and regularly review progress to keep momentum.
