When your people are sharing their opinions (even conflicting ones) means they're is invested in the project. Which is a good sign! The challenge is channeling that passion constructively. Start by giving everyone space to share their views. Echo back their input to clarify their points, then identify overlaps: “It sounds like we all agree on [specific point]. Let’s build on that.” This shifts the focus from differences into alignment. If disagreements persist, bring it back to the goal: “How does this decision best serve our clients or our team?” When everyone sees the bigger picture, it’s easier to make choices that move the project forward.

Navigating conflicting opinions requires encouraging open discussions to understand everyone's perspectives. Identifying common ground helps the team align on shared objectives. Facilitating constructive dialogue ensures all voices are heard, fostering collaboration. Clear prioritization of goals and assigning roles based on strengths keeps the team focused on achieving the common objective.

Firstly make sure everyone feels heard. let people share their thoughts without cutting them off; tension comes from feeling ignored, then bring the focus back to what we’re trying to achieve together. It’s easier to find solutions when we’re all clear on the goal. Look for common ground. Usually there’s something that overlaps, or to which we can work together. Lean on facts or evidence for guidance. It’s harder to argue with data, and it takes the emotion out of the decision. If we still can’t agree, then step in and make the call, but explain the reasoning so people understand it’s about what’s best for the team and the goal. Then make sure everyone feels valued and ready to move forward because, ultimately we’re all in it together.
