Something similar happened to one of my earlier teams. The challenge was the team’s apprehension about a lack of future growth in the company. We sat together and reviewed the organization’s goals, exploring ways to enhance our role by setting larger goals for the team that aligned with these objectives. Some team members came up with ideas, and a few of them, if successfully achieved, seemed likely to significantly impact the company’s success. We prepared a detailed plan. This proposal was presented to the higher-ups, and we received approval for one of the goals. This motivated the team, and they started working toward the goal, which required extra effort. The team’s overall outlook shifted, and success soon followed.
