This is not uncommon, people are complex and everyone engages differently. But it's important to get folks working together effectively to mitigate delays or further fallout. If not already in place, introduce set standing team meetings that are reliable & establish a set agenda for i) risk/issues, ii) business as usual items, iii) all else/team feedback. And for the first session, dedicate the first half of the session to discussing what will make time most productive (ie the communication). Share the point that people listen/hear and digest information in different ways - adding that the session needs to create safe space for listening AND speaking, and cater to introverts, extraverts, and combo-verts =). Repeat and refine.

if my team is having trouble with different communication styles, i would bring everyone together to talk about it. i’d ask each person to share how they like to communicate and what’s not working for them. then, we can agree on a way to communicate that works for everyone, like setting clear rules or using tools to stay organized. it’s important to listen to everyone and make sure everyone feels included and respected.

Communication conflicts can disrupt team harmony, but thoughtful resolution fosters collaboration. I start by creating a safe space for open dialogue, ensuring all voices are heard and understood. Then, I focus on shared goals to unify the team and shift attention toward collective success. Establishing clear communication guidelines helps prevent future misunderstandings. If needed, I introduce team-building or training to enhance communication skills. Addressing conflicts promptly turns challenges into opportunities for growth.
