A phrase I have learned within my role is "What's our goal?" In order to build trust with a new client, I would ask them what the goal is, then outline in detail how we will reach that goal. Be prepared to explain the steps, the systems, and the tools you will use to help the client. I have found that such outlines mitigate confusion and increase confidence in my skills.
