I remember a colleague's statement "I had to dance like a monkey" :), well that's what you do. (Not literally) Here's what works for me: I use the 'pause and probe' technique. Instead of defending the plan, get curious. Ask things like 'Tell me more about your concerns' or 'What specific challenges do you see?' This does two things - it validates their input and gives you real intel to work with. And then the next step, tell me what we should do differently to make this valuable to you. Get them to collaborate and solve the problem. But start with the first step: do not get defensive (otherwise it is downhill)

Afterward, I’d review the feedback to inform future improvements, turning challenges into opportunities for engagement and growth.

I let myself learn from the feedback-a good tool for improvement-by listening carefully to understand their concerns. It could be on content, delivery, or engagement. Where necessary, it could ask for clarification and be willing to adapt real time. I will further facilitate constructive dialogue-encourage participants to participate in the problem-solving process. After the session, I would reflect on my feedback and make whatever adjustments necessary to ensure that the next session can better answer their need.
