In my personal experience, to reengage employees with the CSR mission, it’s essential to align the mission with their values and daily roles. Start by fostering open communication—ask for their input and listen to their perspectives on how CSR can resonate more personally. Highlight the tangible impact of CSR initiatives, showcasing real-world outcomes and celebrating contributions. Empower them to participate actively, perhaps through volunteer opportunities or decision-making in CSR projects. When employees see their efforts making a difference, they’ll reconnect with the mission naturally.

Si los empleados no se conectan con la Sustentabilidad de la empresa la estrategia está mal diseñada. Las empresas lejos de ser abstracciones son las personas que las componen y si la empresa no está involucrada no estamos haciendo referencia a una estrategia de sustentabilidad la cual debe estar alineada con el negocio o será romanticismo con buenas intenciones. Rehacer la estrategia reclama dialogar con todos los grupos de interés, comenzando por los empleados, para conocer problemas, oportunidades, debilidades, fortalezas, pasiones, reclamos... todo lo necesario para conocernos sabiendo con qué contamos, qué tenemos que mejorar y de qué forma podemos sumar energías a favor del enriquecimiento abarcador y sostenible.

You need to connect the CSR aspects to their own interest or their own performance and benefits. For examples, I used to organise a "Green Office campaign" (eg: Say No to Plastic, saving energy/water/paper use...) for employees by delivering a contest with a lot of prizes (everyone loves competition and gifts!), or I organise a movie show as Happy Hour with pop corn, detox water, a lot of fruits as a "must-do" meeting to learn about sustainability awareness, in which I show a movie of the consequences of plastic rubbish damaging the oceans and living beings like fish, birds... Then I have a quiz at the end to summerize what they learn from the movie show. Everyone loved it so much as they are doing something good, fun, and work related.
