I would advise that client requests should most often be a priority, whether urgent or business as usual. I would suggest blocking out time to respond to such tasks, such as an hour first thing in the morning, plus further additional time mid-afternoon. This will ensure that there are at least two opportunities to deal with any client requests. However, flexibility will be needed should any additional urgent requests come in each day in order to resolve the client's issue as quickly as possible.

Personally, I do everything by appointment. I have systems and rules for managing time. We serve people first come, first served. Nobody gets to cut into the front of the line. If it’s a real emergency, they can call 911.
