Starbucks India adds vegan meat to the menu for the first time

Starbucks India has partnered with Imagine Meats to launch its first vegan menu.

Founded by Bollywood actors Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh last year, Imagine Meats offers several plant-based products in stores across India. These include his Mutton Seekh Kebab, Chicken Keema and Spicy Sausage.

The brand has developed three new options for Starbucks, including a Vegan Sausage Croissant Roll, a Vegan Croissant Bun and a Vegan Hummus Kebab Wrap.

“Did you say vegan? We got you,” the coffee giant posted on Instagram. “Introducing our spectacular range of vegan delights that are an absolute treat for your taste buds. [Genelia] and [Riteish] can testify to that. »

The new options are now available in select locations in India.

Growing range of vegan options from Starbucks

This is the first time Starbucks India has introduced a dedicated vegan menu, but in other locations around the world, the coffee chain offers several plant-based choices.

In the UK customers can order the Beyond Meat sandwich, in the US there is an Impossible Sausage breakfast option and in Hong Kong plant-based crab cakes are on the menu.

The chain also offers vegan cakes, meatless meatballs and dairy-free drinks in a number of locations around the world.

Last year, former Starbucks CEO Kevin R. Johnson said “the most pervasive change in consumer behavior is this whole shift to the factory.” He added: “It’s a change in both drinks and food.”

“On the beverage side, that’s why we brought in all the alternative milks, whether it’s almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, it’s all important,” he continued.

“And then on the food side, you see what we’ve done with things like the Impossible Sausage Breakfast Sandwich and you see more and more plant-based protein on our food menu.”
