NFL lineman Lawrence Guy talks about a vegan diet

New England Patriots offensive lineman Lawrence Guy is one of the most recognizable vegans in the sport, weighing 315 pounds and measuring 6’4 feet tall.

Lawrence Guy recently revealed his decision to go vegan, explaining that he and his wife decided to slowly cut meat from their diet several years ago. He spoke of physical benefits he’s seen since going vegan, especially how he feels less groggy in the morning, less swollen, and his joints don’t hurt as much as they once did.

Guy said, “Every offseason, I really wanted to help my body fully recover. My wife and I started consuming heavy red meats and my body felt better, my joints felt better. I never really drank milk. Then we started to take out the chicken. Then you go to the fish. We didn’t cut it right away. I had to make sure I worked on it slowly. When people jump right into it, you have a headache and you start to lose too much. We have done this over the years, constantly moving towards a more plant-based diet

Now the lineman’s diet mainly consists of plant based foods like vegan pancakes, cauliflower pizzas, cauliflower rice and hummus.

Even after cutting out animal products, Guy still managed to maintain his weight and strength, which allowed him to compete with even more stamina than before.
