A nonprofit registration number or tax ID number is assigned by the nonprofit registry, tax authority or other governmental entity in the country where the nonprofit was established. Other names include Employer Identification Number (EIN), Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN), Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN), Value-added Tax Identification number or VAT identification number (VATIN).
