👋 We’re excited to introduce Iryna, our newest tailor, who recently joined our team in Amsterdam! Iryna left Ukraine in the spring of 2022, just a few months after the war began. With over 20 years of experience in tailoring, she previously ran her own business in Ukraine, specializing in designing and creating custom clothing for clients. Iryna is passionate about every aspect of her craft, from designing and pattern-making to sewing. 🪡 At URC, Iryna enjoys working on a variety of repair projects and is eager to expand her skills in this area. She has also found the Netherlands to be a welcoming place. She particularly appreciates its cozy atmosphere. 🌟 What a Week at ISPO 2024! 🌟 It was an unforgettable week at ISPO 2024, we brought our United Repair Centre 'Repair the Industry Lounge,' where a passion for industry change sparked conversations and saw repairs come to life. We’re so grateful for the inspiring people we met and where this movement is going! Here are some of our highlights, and check out our wrap up video! 🎙️ Repair Talks: Our live podcast series brought together incredible voices from brands, outdoor organizations, and circularity experts to discuss how we can collectively repair the industry. Thought-provoking, solution-focused, and packed with inspiration - if you didn’t catch them at ISPO, we’ll be releasing the recordings in 2025. ✂️ Live Repairs: Our talented tailors worked tirelessly, bringing new life to damaged garments right before attendees' eyes. Everything from broken backpacks, to holes in wooly jumpers and broken zippers - there were many smiles as repaired pieces were transformed for another life. 🎤 On the Stage: Our co-founders, Thami Schweichler and Paul Kerssens, led discussions on supply chains, repair, renewal, and designing for repairability, while also joining creative innovation labs to champion repair as a vital part of the future of fashion. A massive thank you to our amazing podcast team from RE The Agency and to the fantastic ISPO team—especially Veronika Gstoettl—for creating the space for us to light up the repair movement.
