The first edition of the Delftse BijBaan was a resounding success! 🎉 Students from TU Delft and from schools located nearby the campus -including, De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Hogeschool Inholland, and ROC Mondriaan - had the unique opportunity to participate in speed-dating sessions with ten Delft-based companies. For the companies, it was an efficient and effective way to connect with motivated students. Many left with follow-up appointments to explore potential collaborations. For the students, it was an invaluable chance to discover the exciting opportunities offered by these local organizations.   A special thanks to our participating companies: XINTC, TJIP, Studio Convex, Luo Automation, Dot Robot, FOTONIQ, Femto Engineering, Qafka Robotics B.V., Emmett Green, and DailyOps. We are thrilled to announce that Innovatiedistrict Delft has been awarded funding from the National Growth Fund as part of the ‘Workscapes of the Future’ program 🚀 The program’s goals align perfectly with the ambitions of our district.   Innovatiedistrict Delft is a collaboration between the Municipality of Delft, TU Delft, Bedrijven Kring Schieoevers, the Province of Zuid-Holland, and the Rotterdam-The Hague Metropolitan Region. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Campuses and science parks in the Netherlands are vital for fostering job creation and new business activities. We are incredibly happy to see TU Delft Campus recognised as an absolute frontrunner within its class, having achieved a 32% increase in the number of established companies since the last report. The number of startups on TU Delft Campus has tripled, now accounting for nearly half of all companies located here. And with 156 startups calling Delft home, TU Delft Campus has become the cradle of South Holland’s startups. 💪🏽 Over the past 6,5 years, 22,000 new jobs have been created by 3,000 companies located on the 20 of the most prominent campuses and science parks in the country. South Holland leads this development, with Delft showcasing the highest growth in employment, according to a new research report by Buck Consultants International. 💬 "The research highlights the importance of further developing our campus and the wider Delft ecosystem. By fostering entrepreneurship, we create jobs at all levels and accelerate the adoption of innovations. After a year-long sprint and months of detailed planning and installation, the AQUABATTERY team finally connected the power cables 🔌 The result: a safe and sustainable #longdurationenergystorage designed for 50kWh, which will generate actionable insights into technology scalability, operations and maintainance, and LDES uses cases (among others) within the coming 12 months. In his opening speech, Jiajun Cen, PhD, CEO of AQUABATTERY, highlighted three success factors to keep scaling acid-base flow batteries. First, the global #urgency for #EnergyStorage, illustrated by the COP29's #1500GW target. Second, the #collaborative approach we have taken to maximise the value for our pilot partners and for our own commercial strategy. In climate tech, you must "move fast and fix things - together.” Lastly, the tireless work of our #Ateam, who believes in the company's vision, shares our values for sustainable innovation and not afraid of the bumps on the road ahead. Speaking from an investor's perspective, Rinke Zonneveld, CEO of Invest-NL, talked about the essential role of LDES to the Dutch energy transition. But he reminded us that that's not the full picture. On stage in the packed Helsinki Convention Center, Nima Salami convinced the jury and audience with a strong, personal and enthusiastic pitch. Oasys Now goes home with the prize:  €1,000,000 in funding. 👩🏽⚕️ Oasys Now is developing an AI-powered personalized health platform to help hospitals, doctors and patients figure out correct treatments faster by matching them to clinical trials.
