2025 is expected to be an interesting year for monetization. Here's are some of the most exciting trends and predictions: • Usage-based pricing will continue to surge, especially in AI and applied AI businesses. • Micro-transactions popping up in unexpected spaces, as more brands experiment with smaller, more frequent pricing tactics. • Dynamic pricing will becoming more accessible through AI advances, allowing businesses to adjust costs in real-time. • LLM platforms balancing demand against capacity for newer or premium models using surge pricing. • Tiered subscriptions will continue to gain popularity in the B2C space, and not just for software. • Freemium models losing their luster in favor of more direct monetization strategies, including ad-based models. • Aggressive, high commitment plans becoming a red flag for buyers as first-gen startups built on LLMs start to feel the heat from their revenue goals. Which one of these are you seeing out there? What are your own predictions?

Key insights from Kyle Poyar based on data of 800+ SaaS Companies: - 56% of SaaS companies have launched AI features in their product; another 25% have AI features on their roadmap - Of these, 41% are directly monetizing AI features & another 28% are testing monetization (the remaining 31% are likely including it 'for free' with existing packages)
The state of AI monetization 👀 The interest in next generation pricing models has been wild. But interest doesn't always translate into adoption. Here's new data from 800+ SaaS companies via the 2024 benchmarks report: - 56% of SaaS companies have launched AI features in their product; another 25% have AI features on their roadmap - Of these, 41% are directly monetizing AI features & another 28% are testing monetization (the remaining 31% are likely including it 'for free' with existing packages) How AI products are making $$: 1️⃣ Traditional subscriptions: 46% - Subscriptions (think: flat fees, per seat) are still the most common form of monetization - This number is actually down compared to how folks monetize SaaS products -- 59% of SaaS products have traditional subscription pricing - Maintaining the status quo often makes sense for now considering (a) the time / expense / change mgmt of pivoting & (b) it makes it easier to upsell an existing customer who's already buying on subscription 2️⃣ Usage: 25% - Usage (think: per AI call, per token, per credit, per conversation) is the second most common - These help cover costs / protect margin and tend to enable "land-and-expand" with customers - Be mindful of ops challenges around forecasting, sales comp, customer comms and metering/billing 3️⃣ Hybrid: 22% - Hybrid pricing (think: platform fee + usage) mixes subscriptions and usage-based pricing - This tends to be the 'Goldilocks' compromise in pricing conversations - The downside: added complexity (for you & customers) 4️⃣ Outcome-based pricing: 7% - Outcome or results-based pricing (think: per successful AI resolution, % of chargeback revenue recovered) starts to orient toward the work delivered by a combo of software & AI agents - I'm seeing more & more interest here, especially if AI can own a workflow from beginning to end; this becomes equivalent to competing against a full-time hire, contractor, or agency/vendor -- There are some big shifts happening, but progress is still gradual. I'll be very curious how this evolves in the next 6-12 months 🍿 🎁 For more AI pricing insights, check out Growth Unhinged — my free weekly newsletter: https://lnkd.in/exTbjKaM #ai #monetization

#BFCM isn’t just about quick one-time sales anymore. Smart brands are turning the shopping event into long-term subscription growth. Here’s how they’re making it happen: 1️⃣ First-Time Discounts Lower the barrier for new subscribers with an deal they can't refuse. A reduced first-month is a simple way to convert curiosity into commitment. 2️⃣ Gift Subscriptions Turn existing customers into ambassadors by promoting subscriptions as thoughtful gifts. Incentivized with exclusive perks for both giver and recipient. 3️⃣ Subscription Bundles Partner up with a complimentary service to create uniqye offers. Think: Fitness App + Meal Kits, Time Management & Note Keeping apps, Learning Platforms + CoWorking memberships. 4️⃣ Loyalty Rewards Reward customers proactively discounted renewals, bonus features, or freebies. This is a great way to take the steam out of competitors' campaigns. What strategies are you testing this year?

Businesses don’t pay for 'AI hype' They pay for results. Think: time saved, efficiency gained, accelerated growth. Understanding how your AI product enables ROI is the key to crafting the right pricing strategy. There is no silver bullet. It requires engaging with customers, fine-tuning your value proposition, and experimenting with pricing models and quotes to find out what works. Now more than ever, effective monetization can be the competitive edge that determines whether you lead the pack or get left behind. Solvimon exists to give businesses that edge.

Businesses often focus on customer acquisition, while underutilizing one of their biggest levers... Monetization is one of the most powerful tools for driving business growth, but it's often overlooked. It’s not just about charging for your product or service; it’s about crafting a strategy that maximizes value for both your customers and your bottom line. Think about it: every adjustment in pricing, packaging, or payment model can have a ripple effect across your entire business. A well-thought-out monetization strategy doesn’t just boost revenue—it can also improve retention, unlock new customer segments, and increase LTV. Are you charging what your product is truly worth? Does it align with your current business goals?
