We are pleased to reveal the finalists for The Aviation Challenge 2024. This year, SkyTeam tasked 24 airlines with adopting and rolling out at scale some of the 450+ sustainability ideas generated in past challenges. Participating airlines conducted 33 showcase flights and submitted an impressive 327 innovative solutions across three main categories. All entries were assessed against a comprehensive set of technical criteria by a panel of aviation and sustainability experts, including the NLR - Netherlands Aerospace Centre. Czech Airlines will no longer be a member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance, effective Saturday 26 October 2024. This is due to changes in the group's operating model that mean the airline will no longer operate scheduled passenger or cargo services under its 'OK' code. The departure of Czech Airlines from SkyTeam will have little impact on the overall network. SkyTeam continues to offer an extensive global network of more than 1,000 destinations in 160+ countries. Connectivity to Prague will be maintained thanks to services operated by five member airlines. SkyTeam and its members thank Czech Airlines for more than 20 years of partnership and wish our Czech Airlines friends and colleagues the best for the future.

SkyTeam has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Trenitalia, Italy’s leading rail operator. With Trenitalia as part of SkyTeam’s global network, customers will soon be able to enjoy the convenience of combined bookings, experiencing Italy’s iconic cities via SkyTeam flights and Trenitalia’s extensive rail network, with the added benefit of earning and spending miles on both modes of transportation. SkyPriority services will be offered at railway stations where possible, benefiting SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus members and Trenitalia’s CartaFRECCIA Platinum and Gold members. This partnership marks a significant step in our strategy to enhance intermodal travel options, seamlessly integrating air and high-speed rail journeys across Italy.
