Our Shimano Softgoods team joined forces with customers and Treedom to support environmental sustainability on Green Friday. On this day Shimano Softgoods gifted a tree through Treedom for every purchase made by a customer in the online Gearshop and in the Blue Space, at our Experience Center in Valkenburg (NL). The outcome of this year’s Green Friday is amazing. On this day a total of 170 trees were gifted. Bringing the current number of trees to 500. As a long-term partner of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and proud partner of the UCI World Cycling Centre (WCC), Shimano Europe Group continues to make a difference in the global cycling community. 🚴 This year, Shimano donated 19 neutral service bikes and 23 sets of wheels to the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland. Energizing kick-off of implementation SAP S/4 HANA within Shimano Europe! Last week we gathered at the iconic Shimano Experience Center in Valkenburg for the official kick-off of the implementation of SAP S/4 HANA. During this 2-year journey, Accenture will be our co-pilot, helping us navigate through the complexity of this project with their expertise.   As part of this project, we will define the business processes and build the platform to fuel the next decade of growth through simpler, more efficient and integrated ways of working, scalable based on common vision, goals and governance. During the kick-off we brought together the Shimano and Accenture teams where a lot of information was provided, questions were asked, and concerns were shared. It was a great opportunity to set the scene & tone, explain the approach, and establish personal connections between the people and the teams. Really important for project success. Off to a great ride!

Last night, six irreplaceable bikes were stolen from our Shimano Experience Center in Valkenburg. This morning our colleagues on site saw that the locks were forced open and discovered the bikes were gone. • Mathieu van der Poel’s Canyon Aeroad CFR—WC Edition • Egan Bernal’s Pinarello Dogma • Fabio Jakobsen’s Scott Foil • Julian Alaphilippe’s Specialized S-Works • Matej Mohorič’s Merida REACTO Team Pearl Design • Peter Sagan’s Specialized S-Works Venge We are relieved that no one was hurt, the theft occurred at night with no staff on site. The stolen bikes are beyond any monetary value, having played their part in cycling history, at the Tour de France, at the World Championships, at the Olympics, and at countless other vital events in the cycling world. If you have any information regarding the theft or if anyone should offer to sell you one of the above bikes, please contact your local authorities.
