Push the boundaries of sustainable rotation | GearUp the next level of wind turbine gearbox monitoring
Over ons
Together we push the boundaries of sustainable rotation. Sensing360 is a leading provider and partner to help to make rotating equipment smart. Our next level monitoring optical solutions are used for design to increase reliability, for condition-based monitoring for early failure detection and for reliability-based maintenaince and process control to make decisions on measured risks of failures and increase operation efficiency. We add load and torque to the mix of monitoring rotating equipment. This crucial operating parameter in combination with optical sensors, results in more reliable, higher quality and more precise data for bearings, shafts and (planetary) gearboxes. Designing, monitoring and controlling rotating equipment is a lesson in how much you really know about your equipment and the accumulated severity of its operating condition. The severity of the operating condition is mainly characterized by the various loads acting on your equipment. Only from a fraction of the loads, the payload, the revenue is derived BUT all accumulated loads will consume remaining useful life and will act as a risk for your operation. Our solutions that allow optimize performance by controlling the payload. We provide you with the real-time load data that allows you to monitor and optimize the operating conditions by minimizing the unwanted load. We provide real time actionable load data to improve the performance of your rotating equipment and mitigate the risk of unplanned down time. Interested in optimizing your equipment? 💡 The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) has seen the Light! This morning we have installated the photonic sleeve at the university’s maintenance lab test rig, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐟. This technology will enable precise bearing load and condition monitoring testing, taking their research capabilities to the next level. The sleeve, equipped with optical sensors, offers the possibility to measure bearing load, adding these parameters for predictive maintenance, reliability monitoring and testing applications. A big thank you to the team and in particular Jurjen Helmus, PhD and Sam Zwaan—it’s always inspiring to see research and technology come together to shape the future of engineering and predicition. 📸 Swipe to see: 1️⃣ The sleeve installed and ready to perform on the Wentelteef test rig. 2️⃣ A close-up of the optical sensors to be installed on the photonic sleeve. Let there be (optical) light—and exciting discoveries! 🌟 #Innovation #Engineering #Bearingtesting #CoMo #Load #Optics

This week, we’re at WindEurope’s #EoLIS2024 event in Gothenburg, and Tycho Sonnemans is there to connect, learn, and discuss strategies for addressing End-of-Life Issues in aging wind turbines and parks. If you’d like to meet Tycho, have a conversation, or just say hello, feel free to reach out or drop us a message! We believe a turbine’s "life" 💚 isn’t a fixed number of years—it’s shaped by operating conditions, park location, maintenance, and design. For effective asset due diligence, it’s crucial to measure key parameters like torque, speed, and consumed life accurately. This week is all about exploring possibilities for lifetime extension and making informed decisions about the "End-of-Life" of wind turbines ♻️. Let’s connect and discuss! #WindEnergy #WindPower #LifetimeExtension

🌟 Understanding condition monitoring through the P-F Curve 🌟 In the world of maintenance and reliability, Condition Monitoring plays a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency and minimizing downtime. But how does it actually work? Let’s break it down using the P-F Curve 📈: 🔍 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏-𝐅 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞? The P-F curve represents the timeline of a failure process: 𝐏 (𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞): This is the point where an issue first becomes detectable. The asset still functions, but something isn’t quite right. 𝐅 (𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞): This is the point where the asset can no longer perform its intended function, leading to downtime or damage. The distance between P and F is known as the P-F interval, and our goal is to detect potential failures as early as possible within this window. 🎯 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧? Condition monitoring tools and techniques—like vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis—help identify signs of wear, misalignment, or other anomalies at the P stage, far before failure occurs. Enabling: 🛠️ Schedule repairs proactively ⏱️ Avoid unplanned downtime ⚙️ Extend the life of assets 🕰️ 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬? The earlier we detect a problem, the more options we have: 💡Quick fixes may prevent more significant interventions. 💡Planned downtime costs far less than emergency repairs. 💡Resources can be allocated efficiently. Condition monitoring shifts us from reactive maintenance to proactive reliability management, reducing costs and improving overall efficiency. See the classical P-F curve below! 👇 D - Fault starts, P - Fault detactable, F - Functional Failure 1 - Vibration, 2 - Wear - oil particles, 3 - Audible noise, 4 - Temperature, 5 - Smoke #conditionmonitoring #predictive #reliability #PFcurve #basics #reducewaste
