Delivering excellence under pressure! Mammoet's team in Mexico recently executed a difficult task: replacing a 106t ball mill at the MMP3 Tamuin Plant. Due to confined space available, a combination of operations including 12 axle-lines of SPMT, a jacking system, skidding system and gantry were utilized to complete the operation. Mammoet’s team was approached by our client, Lindsayca, to assist in receiving and setting components of a 414 MW thermoelectric generation plant called Manzanillo Power Land. A total of 18 components would arrive by barge at the newly commissioned dock and be rolled off by Mammoet’s crew before traveling by Goldhofer trailers along an approximate 6.5 km (4 mile) dedicated route to site. The various cargo received included two transformers, ten HRSG modules, a steam drum, two generators and three turbines. Upon arrival at the site, Mammoet’s crew positioned the heavier components using a 700t gantry system. The heaviest item received, a 317t gas turbine generator, was first skidded about 18 meters (59 ft.) before being installed using the gantry on its foundation. The plant’s construction marks a significant milestone in the island's energy development plan and aligns with the government’s strategy to meet the rising demand for electricity. #accionveganaByMammoet #Goldhofer #DominicanRepublic #HeavyHaul #Gantry

Records were broken this week at Seaspan ULC in North Vancouver! The first of two Joint Support Ships for the Royal Canadian Navy, the future HMCS Protecteur, is now in position for launch on the floating dry dock. Weighing over 11,000t and 173m in length, the vessel is the longest warship ever built in Canada and breaks records for the heaviest land transport in the country, requiring 456 lines of SPMT to move. This transport also marks the first time #Mammoet has connected 100 lines of SPMT in a continuous train.
