Over ons
WHO ARE OUR CUSTOMERS? Harbor and/or Terminal Towage is your business. You operate under an increasingly competitive situation; margins are deteriorating while the demands to your fleet are increasing with larger cargo vessel sizes. Consolidation in the market means your competitors are getting scale advantages. You're trying to run a highly efficient operation and occasionally look for opportunities to expand. OUR OFFER LionRock Maritime can help you with both. With the use of data technology we can give you immediate, factual and unprecedented insight into towage businesses in any port in the world, including your own. Here’s how… PRODUCT “WASTE FREE SHIPPING” Between 40% and 75% of all freesailing is done with speeds exceeding ECO speed. Yes, very likely also in your operation. We have helped towage companies bring that down to a consistent 10 to 15%. Resulting in reduced fuel use per engine hour of 20%. PRODUCT “PORT EXPLORATION” Business development in towage is a high-risk undertaking. It often requires significant investment in new tonnage and venturing into unknown markets. As a minimum you want to be able to make decisions based on factual information; how much business is there? How long does an operation take? How is the distribution of jobs throughout the day, week, month and year? Etc. We provide you with the answers to these questions and more ABOUT US & CONTACT We’re a team of industry experts and data scientists. Navigating New Waters: The Maritime Sector Faces a Wave of Change with the Introduction of CSRD and ESRS 🚢 🌊 Legislative changes are on the horizon for the maritime sector. With the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), we’re stepping into a new era of sustainability reporting. This transition is not just about compliance – it's about transforming maritime companies. Our latest article dives into the nuances of these regulations and their potential impact on the industry, including tugboat operators. As part of the indirect emissions associated with a company’s value chain (their scope 3 emissions), data on tugboat operators’ emissions potentially have to be included in the CSRD reports of large companies. However, this is only required if emissions are deemed material. This determination of materiality involves assessing whether the emissions from tugboats significantly impact the environmental footprint of the vessel operators they assist. More is likely to be known once the sector-specific ESRS are published in mid-2026. Until then, we are curious to hear your take. Are the emissions from tugboat operations significant enough for vessel operators to include them in their sustainability reports under Scope 3 emissions? Or, is it sufficient if these companies rely on estimates from the industry-average of tugboats? The answer to these questions has implications for the assessment of the environmental footprint of tugboats and the vessels they assist. We, of course, think it is important to include every step of the value chain, as any measurement is an opportunity to increase sustainability. 🌊 Join the conversation on how these regulatory changes are reshaping the maritime industry and what it means for future sustainability efforts. What are your thoughts on the impact of CSRD and ESRS on maritime operations? Share your views below! 👇 #CSRD #ESRS #MaritimeSustainability #TugboatOperators #LionRockMaritime
