📢 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 The Dutch government has announced the abolition of the 𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 (𝗟𝗜𝗩) starting 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. The LIV has long been a financial incentive for employers who hire employees with a low hourly wage, supporting job creation and income security for lower-income workers. This change means: ⚠️ No more government compensation for employing low-income workers. ⚙️ Employers may need to reassess their workforce strategies and budgets. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻? 🔹For job seekers, this could mean fewer job opportunities for low-paying roles. 🔹For employers, it removes a subsidy that helped offset wage costs for low-wage workers, potentially increasing payroll expenses.
