  • The power of #regenerativeleadership in fashion! One of For Good Leaders - Riccardo Bellini - shared a timeless article on Vogue Business that will inspire you as a leader seeking more ways to accelerate your drive to a more regenerative mindset in your leadership and in your organization. READ HERE article by Bella Webb : https://lnkd.in/eurrEEqe In the article you can read how in a transformative move, Riccardo as CEO of Chloé at the time, embraced regenerative leadership to steer the luxury fashion house towards sustainability and social impact. This approach views organizations as living systems, fostering self-organization and alignment with nature. Under Bellini's guidance, Chloé has: Emphasizised sustainable design. Achieved #BCorp certification, becoming the first luxury fashion house to do so. Launched initiatives like the Instant Resale project with Vestiaire Collective and Eon, promoting traceability and circularity. Bellini's journey underscores the importance of aligning personal values with organizational goals, prompting leaders to reflect on their roles and the legacy they wish to leave. His collaboration with experts like Giles Hutchins and Laura Storm highlights regenerative leadership as a response to pressing social and environmental challenges. This paradigm shift moves beyond traditional sustainability, advocating for a deeper reevaluation of mindsets and interactions within organizations. By fostering a culture of reflection and purpose, businesses can unlock energy, engagement, and satisfaction among their teams. As Riccardo aptly puts it, reflecting on what drives you is crucial for future-proofing your company. #RegenerativeLeadership #SustainableFashion #BusinessTransformation #Leadership #Innovation

  • "In an era of unrelenting change, leaders must resist the temptation to wait for the dust to settle and instead become astute observers of emerging signals, monitoring for subtle shifts that portend disruption." We want to bring about a new regenerative mindset and model of business. For that to happen we need to pay attention to what will allow us to ride the new trends and emerging signals into the futures we want. Amy Webb of the Future Today Institute 's also introduces us to a wide and poignant range of sectors and verticals which are seeing some of the most interesting, and often deeply surprising new signals and evolutions. LEARN FROM THE REPORT HERE: https://lnkd.in/gDpJKsR4 What are your favourite ways to spot the most interesting emerging signals that you can share with the global 8,500 leaders following this For Good Leaders channel?

  • Does sustainability sell? Not if it's 'ego' marketing. Just breaking old habits is not enough and in fact it is what receives most resistance. As well as offering provocations that challenge the system we therefore also need to provide the foundations and way forward which new emerging systems are offering us. At For Good Leaders we are enriched by one of the most forward thinking community of challengers and doers: Solitaire Townsend and Laia Mas Perez are two such leaders who offer fresh and useful perspectives. From their recent exchange comes the question : "Do you agree that Ego Marketing is the mainstream of sustainability community with disastrous effects? It also encompasses those advertising campaigns that are communicated solely because some CMO believes, "I’ve invested millions on this new packaging... someone has to acknowledge my effort" "The kiss of death to any sustainability brief working is the line 'we'd like to get more credit for what we've done'" Enjoy here this mini masterclass of ideas from Solitaire's Futerra which sparked this useful conversation. Do your own regenerative campaigns just communicate or do they enrich and bring together your community? Is your comms campaign useful to those you wish to serve with your business? How?

  • How does a pioneering model sustain and become a thriving ecosystem? As always great new ideas from For Good Leaders steward and speaker Anuradha Chugh who shared in a recent post: "I am discovering this for myself as I turn our backyard into an agro-forest. I also observe parallels with the B Corp movement. Since the establishment of the #BCorp movement 18 years ago over 9000 companies have voluntarily adopt the high standards of stakeholder governance. Early pioneer B Corps prove the model (proof of concept), inspire and support newer BCorps, and so on. This is why B Locals, local community gathering, are extremely important. They help establish a support system; guilds, in the language of agro-forestry/ permaculture. "

  • The question is not new, the answer is interesting. How do we drive market transformations in pursuit of regeneration and ultimate sustainability? John Elkington keynoted his insights at the last For Good Leaders summit and keeps providing excellent food for thought to our ambitious regenerative leadership. Well worth reading his thoughts in this recent article that shifts the lever of impact towards the idea of MARKETS AS CONVERSATIONS! Using the topic of the regenerative production of soy, one of the biggest growth markets a wider exploration of rethinking production markets. READ HERE John's views: https://lnkd.in/ewZEnQzK Do you have examples of what makes other markets most regenerative to share with our global leadership eager to learn and rethink?

  • The system as it stands does not work! In his aptly titled “tipping points economics” Hans Stegeman shares the foundations of a new system. Using the “excuse” of the recent #COP29 and #COP16 Hans Stegeman, who gave a mind opening speech on new systems and models at the recent For Good Leaders autumn gathering in Rome, offers new insights into the systems that will bring a prosperous future to our organizations and lives. He also mentioned our recent summit speaker’s Sandrine Dixson-Declève The Club of Rome letter with proposed shifts the governance of the COP process from negotiation to implementation of climate commitments. • The Hunt for Grey Swans - how can Multi View Scenarios help our companies manage #greyswans : possible and known events, potentially extremely significant but considered not very likely to happen? Where poker and strategic thinking align! A #greyswan ? A play on Taleb's concept of an unpredictable black swan event, but fundamentally different as it is predictable. Grey swans can be positive or negative and significantly alter the way the world operates, which is why we are urged to take them seriously. Rising debt is one example of a very predictable grey swan. In the article an original take from Poker! Poker teaches us to handle the unknown deck of cards that has been distributed, just as Multi View Scenarios teach us to navigate uncertain futures. And here where poker and multi view scenarios share the same lessons: Adaptability: In poker and strategy, the answer is never one thing. If you can’t adapt, you’re already behind. Ego and Bias: Both poker and strategic thinking are full of blind spots — personal, cultural, cognitive. In either context, ignorance is costly. Thinking AND Acting: At some point, theory must give way to action. Every hand, every scenario eventually demands a decision. Planning and Proactiveness: Both poker and strategy hinge on external variables and the choices you make in response. Control what you can; respond to the rest. Smart Choices: The smart player, like the smart strategist, knows when to play and when to fold. Objective Evaluation: Ignoring the external factors or downplaying the role and competency of opponents is a quick path to failure. Hedging Against Uncertainty: In poker, as in life, a single path isn’t enough. The true advantage lies in having multiple options. • "the language of freedom: freedom not just of economic choice, a freedom to escape the tyranny of the system, but a freedom to be radically human. To construct a system that ennobles us in a different way." The last For Good Leaders regenerative event started with a provocation. Provocations are an excellent way to open our minds, shake our beliefes and open our minds to new, better ways of thinking and doing. And who better than Indy Johar, one of our most profound thought-leaders and friends. You can enjoy more of Indy's wise provocations in this deep insightful podcast: https://lnkd.in/emXbQNm5

  • Nate Hagens and his 33 m documentary are one of the most profound and life-changing influence on my recent thinking. A half-an-hour that can seriously impact your worldview ! The Great Simplification is a thought-provoking documentary that examines humanity’s trajectory through a historical lens focused on energy use, resource consumption, and the implications for our future. It argues that our reliance on fossil fuels and economic growth, coupled with societal structures shaped by human psychology, have created an energy-dependent "Superorganism" that could lead to unsustainable outcomes. We loved how the film challenges viewers to look at the world through a systems-based perspective, urging us to rethink how we use energy and resources as we approach an inevitable simplification of our way of life. Key highlights we extrapolated: Human History and Energy:  Humanity’s journey from hunter-gatherers to industrial civilization was fueled by gradual access to greater energy sources, culminating in the discovery of fossil fuels. This transition allowed for unprecedented growth, but it severed humanity's direct connection to nature, as we began to rely on non-renewable resources for societal development. Fossil Fuels and the Carbon Pulse:  Fossil fuels provided humanity with a massive, yet temporary, surge of energy, often called the “carbon pulse.” This energy source enabled vast economic expansion, improved living standards, and increased complexity in our global systems, but it is unsustainable as fossil resources deplete and extraction costs rise. Economic Growth and Consumerism:  Modern economies depend on continuous growth, sustained by increasing consumption and debt, which can mask the reality of limited natural resources. The global market incentivizes consumption over conservation, reinforcing a cycle where money is seen as equivalent to real wealth, despite its dependence on finite energy and resources. Psychology and Society:  The film explores how human psychology, evolved for survival in small tribes, is ill-suited to manage a consumer-driven, highly technological society. Social media, financial markets, and status-driven consumption drive behaviors that prioritize short-term gratification, reinforcing unsustainable practices. The Call for a Systems Lens:  To navigate future challenges, the film advocates for a "systems lens" that reveals the interconnectedness of economic, ecological, and social dynamics. Recognizing energy as the basis of our economic system, this perspective emphasizes the need to simplify our lifestyles and reduce complexity in order to create a sustainable future. https://lnkd.in/eTtTgUsE
