Transforming residual household waste, including all organics, into a climate-positive thermoplastic 🌎

עלינו

UBQ Materials transforms hard-to-recycle household waste, including organics, into a climate-positive material that can be used to replace oil-based plastics and composite materials. By using UBQ™ material, brands and manufacturers can reshape how most things are made by helping divert waste from landfills and incinerators, removing and avoiding GHG emissions, and preserving finite natural resources. For some things there's recycling. For everything else, there's UBQ.

The world agrees on the need to reduce carbon emissions, as they are one of the main drivers of earth’s rising temperature. However, each country has a different perspective on how this should be done. On our new #UBQTalks series, we asked Gina McCarthy, former Administrator of EPA in the U.S., whether there is one unique approach that could work across countries and regions. In a nutshell, while the approach might look similar, it will vary depending on the specific needs of each country.  Don’t miss her insights on this critical topic! We wrapped up the year with an exclusive ‘Can-Do #Sustainability’ event at our Tel Aviv headquarters, where we brought together key stakeholders, partners, and industry leaders. The conversation delved into critical topics like the #CarbonMarket, climate change solutions, emerging market opportunities, and #innovation. We were also excited to present our new life cycle assessment (LCA) from ERM for our cutting-edge Bergen op Zoom facility in the #Netherlands. A special thank you to our guest, Noam Gressel, Co-founder & Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer at ECO-OS, for sharing valuable insights on the evolving carbon removal market. 🌱 Our incredible speakers lineup from the UBQ Materials team included Gil Felus, Chief Operation Officer, who discussed the future of innovation and UBQ’s groundbreaking applications; Jack (Tato) Bigio, Co-Founder and Co-CEO; Sophie Tuviahu, VP of Sales & Business Development; and Gali Feldboy - Klinger, Global Sustainability Director, who contributed to the vibrant discussion on sustainable solutions and market trends. A big thank you to all the participants for your engagement and collaboration. Together, we’re shaping a sustainable future! 🌿🌍  #UBQ #ClimateAction #CarbonRemoval #CarbonAvoidance

  • In our recent poll, we asked how much food waste increases in Australia during the holiday season (December 1 – January 1).    Australians discard more than 25% of their food during the festivities. According to a KitchenAid study in 2016, nine out of 10 ‘Aussies’ usually waste more food during the holidays.    While no updated data is available, considering population growth and shifts in consumer habits and product components, it’s likely that this percentage has risen since then.    The real concern with the millions of tons of household waste disposed of in landfills is methane emissions, especially those from food waste, which currently accounts for over 24% of total emissions.    UBQ™ material, made of household waste including organics and hard-to-recycle materials, offers a solution right now. As a bio-based, thermoplastic material, it supports the circular economy, reduces dependency on conventional plastics, and removes and avoids greenhouse gas emissions.    Learn more about UBQ: www.ubqmaterials.com    #UBQ #Sustainability

  • In our recent poll, we asked how many rolls of wrapping paper an average household in the #UK uses each year.    The answer is four. Due to the use of plastic, glitter, or laminates in wrapping paper, over 83 km2 of wrapping paper ends up in bins, ultimately reaching landfills and/or incinerators because it cannot be recycled.    Research by Greenpeace found that for every kilogram of wrapping paper produced, over 3 kg of CO2 emissions are generated, primarily from the 1.3 kg of coal required in its production process.    Wrapping paper, organics and hard-to-recycle materials are part of the mixed household waste, which is converted into UBQ™ material today.  As a bio-based, thermoplastic material, UBQ™ supports the circular economy, reduces dependency on conventional plastics, and removes and avoids greenhouse gas emissions.    Learn more about UBQ: www.ubqmaterials.com     #UBQ #Sustainability
