One of the highlights of the conference was a live case at the Heart Institute of Beilinson - Rabin Medical Center, where our own ‏Eran Ben-Yosef participated alongside the talented cardiology team: Prof. Ran Kornowski ‏ Dr. ‏Amos Levi‏ and Dr. ‏Gregory Golovchiner‏ performed a live broadcast of a Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) procedure using the #WATCHMAN device, demonstrating remarkable expertise and collaboration. Rotational Atherectomy with #ROTAPRO™" We are excited to share a complex cardiac procedure recently performed at Beilinson - Rabin Medical Center by Prof. Leor Perl, Head of the Catheterization Unit, and @Dr.Yeela Talmor Barkan, Senior Cardiologist. The team utilized the #ROTAPRO™ system by Boston Scientific@Stanka Sudar@Irena Horvat for Rotational Atherectomy, addressing a heavily calcified coronary artery blockage in a high-risk patient. What is Rotational Atherectomy? This advanced technique uses a high-speed, diamond-coated "burr" to grind through severe calcifications, enabling safe and effective stent placement, even in complex cases. #Case #Overview : A 72-year-old male patient with chronic kidney disease and acute coronary syndrome presented with a severely calcified lesion in the LAD, confirmed by ischemia on SPECT. Despite attempts with micro-catheters and balloons, the blockage proved impassable. The decision was made to use #ROTAPRO™ rotational atherectomy, which successfully debulked the calcium and modified the plaque. Following stent implantation, OCT imaging verified excellent stent expansion and apposition, with no dissections detected. The patient was discharged shortly thereafter in good condition. This case highlights how Rotational Atherectomy and technologies like ROTAPRO™ are advancing personalized medicine, improving outcomes, and transforming lives.
