Please welcome our newest Software Engineer, Eytan Ivan Reuven! Eytan will be joining the Vega UTM team where he’ll use his coding skills to help our product vision come to life. Eytan is from Lehavim and comes to us from his service in a technology unit, where he participated in the development of digital applications. With over three years of full stack engineering experience, he’s passionate about taking on complex engineering challenges and seeing people benefit from his work - so a career at High Lander is tailor-made for him. Please welcome our new Product Manager, Gal Lebel. Gal will be taking charge of the Vega team, where she’ll be responsible for guiding the product vision and the end-to-end management of the development of new applications and features. Gal is from Ramat Gan and served as an operations manager in the air force before completing a degree Engineering and Industrial Management - she’s fascinated by technology and loves creating new solutions that help people in their daily lives. With a career ranging from airport security operations to product management at leading tech companies, she also worked as a Javascript and HTML instructor to underprivileged youth. Freshly returned from a four-month trek around South America, Gal is excited to begin her journey with High Lander and apply her skills to the next generation of aviation technology. Gal enjoys making ceramics, practicing yoga, and baking in her spare time. We were proud to demonstrate Orion DFM's autonomous capabilities to Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai. Tel Aviv Yafo Municipality’s security team have been using Orion DFM for more than two years for citywide security, supporting emergency services, and managing crowds at mass events. At this demonstration we joined our partners Cando Drones to demonstrate additional capabilities of the platform including autonomous dispatch and patrols, and BVLOS flights, with multiple missions controlled simultaneously via a single integrated command center. These capabilities enhance the effectiveness of the city’s security patrol and could even enable autonomous first responder drones - in other words, a game changer. Undertaking such operations in a complex urban airspace requires complete airspace awareness, proven failsafes for conflicts, and integration with an approved UTM system. Luckily, Orion DFM ticks all of these boxes. We’d like to thank Cando Drones for their operational support and all who came to view the demonstration. Today is International Civil Aviation Day, and the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, held in Chicago in 1944. The conference established many of the airspace rules we still rely on today, and saw the creation of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
