Modern technology is a catalyst for growth in the aviation industry. Today, at Polish Aviation Group (PGL), we celebrated Innovation Day – our internal event focused on showcasing the best digital solutions used in aviation. The event was hosted by the PGL IT Team, which leads the design and support of implementing new technologies across our group companies. The opening address was delivered by Artur Lebiedziński, President of the PGL Management Board, with employees from across the Polish Aviation Group  LOT Polish Airlines, LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services, LS Technics, LS Airport Services S.A., Polska Akademia Lotnicza – participating in discussions and lectures. PGL is committed to integrating resources and best practices to drive the digital development of aviation companies. LOTAMS company has launched its operations at the Rzeszów-Jasionka technical maintenance base. The very first operation to be carried out will be a heavy maintenance of one of the world’s largest wide-body aircraft, the Boeing 787. The Rzeszów base will play a key role in providing technical support to carriers in Central and Eastern Europe and will contribute to the development of the aviation sector in the Podkarpackie region. https://lnkd.in/dAt6G7W6

The PGL Group has joined the global Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), committed to reducing the Earth’s average temperature 🌡 increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius relative to the pre-industrial era. The PGL Group’s decarbonization strategy involves reducing 📉 emissions across three Scopes, in accordance with the global standard set by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol). At PGL, we understand the importance of sustainable growth 📊, which is why we are actively working on reducing greenhouse gas emissions across our operations. As far as LOT Polish Airlines air transport operations ✈ are concerned, the short-term goal of the PGL Group is to reduce Well-to-Wake (WTW) greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and category 3 of Scope 3) from aviation fuel by 45% per ton-kilometer (RTK) by 2030, compared to 2019. This goal has been set as the objective for the PGL Group and verified by the SBTi. Moreover, the remaining PGL companies — Polska Grupa Lotnicza, LS Airport Services S.A., LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services, LS Technics, and Polska Akademia Lotnicza — have adopted a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e) by 42% by 2030 compared to the 2022 levels. This target pertains to direct emissions from fuel combustion and the use of refrigerants (Scope 1), as well as indirect emissions resulting from the consumption of electricity and heat (Scope 2) The emission reduction goal adopted by the PGL Group has been approved by SBTi, confirming that it aligns with the scientific methodology and targets set out in the Paris Agreement.
